So, you've made it through the awkward first date. Congratulations! If the date went well, you might be looking for ideas on what to do for your second date. It's normal to get excited and a little nervous for this date just as you were for the first. The best thing you can do is remain yourself, stay positive, and have a good time.
Don't get too worked up over it.
Dating is about creating memories as a new couple. Instead of going to similar restaurants or doing the same thing each date, make sure you put some effort into your date idea selections to ensure your date doesn't think you're boring. Did you go out for coffee for your first date? Instead of doing that again for the second date, think of something different.
For your second date, pick something that is going to be appealing to your date. Figure out something he or she likes to do and create a date from that. Do they like to spend time outdoors? Maybe an afternoon on the Terry Hershey Hike and Bike Trail would be something fun to do. You could even stop and have a picnic along the way.
Some activities for your second date might include:
A sporting event - Go cheer on a favorite team
Physical activities - This might include hiking in a new place, swimming, or taking a walk around town
Other outdoor activities - Other outdoor activities - Consider things like a picnic, stroll around the zoo, farmers market trip, or other outside fun things to do in your city
A special restaurant - Maybe your town offers waterfront dining or other unique settings
Social activities - Parties or other group activities
On your second date, you might want to try to avoid the movies. Movie dates are okay for later in your dating experience, but you want the second date to be filled with fun activities or in-depth conversations. Most couples tend to get dinner and drinks, but in a more relaxed location than their first date.
If you are in the Houston, TX area, some fun date ideas include:
Events at Discovery Green
Art Car Museum
Kayaking Tour of Buffalo Bayou
Miller Outdoor Theatre
As you prepare for your second date, remember to stay calm and be yourself. Take the time to engage in conversation so you and your date can get to know each other more. Who knows, you might be planning your third, fourth, and fifth date soon.
